Riga Business School (RBS) is excited to announce the addition of a brand-new FinTech specialization to its Professional MBA program. This innovative specialization marks a significant advancement in Latvia’s business education landscape, providing RBS students with academic insights into the rapidly expanding global financial technology sector and preparing them to become the next generation of financial innovation leaders.
The FinTech specialization courses will be led by experienced industry professionals — Nauris Bloks, Chairman of the Board at TWINO, and Inese Lazdovska, Head of Legal at Mintos.
RBS Director Inese Muzikante emphasizes: “With this new specialization, RBS continues to affirm its leadership in business education in Latvia. We intentionally foster a learning environment where academic knowledge is deeply integrated with practical experience — our courses are taught by professionals who not only master theory but also actively work in the industry and lead real companies. We are therefore especially proud to offer the expertise and insights of leading businesses through our MBA FinTech specialization.”

The Growing Importance of FinTech
The financial technology sector is transforming the traditional financial landscape by delivering innovative digital solutions for payments, lending, investments, and financial inclusion. Success in this field demands interdisciplinary expertise—not only in technology but also in regulation, strategic thinking, and business development.
Over the past two years, RBS has established itself as a central hub for FinTech education in Latvia by developing and implementing nationwide educational initiatives in partnership with the Baltic Financial Center, founded under RBS’s auspices. These initiatives have been supported by the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility and developed in close collaboration with industry professionals and policymakers. The educational content has received endorsements from key institutions including the Bank of Latvia, Ministry of Finance, Financial Intelligence Unit, FinTech Latvia Association, Latvian Financial Sector Association, and several leading companies in the sector.
