The reorganization process of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM) and Riga Business School (RBS) at Riga Technical University (RTU) is progressing, following the RTU Council’s decision of December 18, 2025, and next week the working group plans to prepare and submit an Informational report to the RTU Rector for evaluation.
The reorganization working group, established in January 2026, is currently concluding an intensive phase of analysis and planning. Given the scope and complexity of the process, additional time has been allocated to ensure a thorough, data-driven and sustainable outcome. An interim report outlining the initial findings was submitted to RTU management in February. Based on the feedback received, the working group is currently refining the informational report, which outlines the reorganization strategy, proposed structural model, study program mapping, and investment plan.
As informed previously, to ensure a structured approach, several thematic subgroups have been formed, focusing on the development of study programs, strengthening of research capacity, and the design of governance and organizational models. The work has included a comprehensive review of the existing study program portfolio, an assessment of research output, and the development of proposals for the future organizational structure, taking into account international AACSB accreditation standards.
The reorganization is intended to strengthen Latvia’s competitiveness, foster internationally competitive research, and educate future leaders in technology-driven businesses, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
