The RBS Baltic Finance Center (BFC) invites faculty members from Latvian universities to participate in a new professional development program. Its goal is to prepare lecturers to teach new courses in FinTech business education, which the BFC offers to integrate into existing study programs at Latvian universities starting this academic year.
The total duration of the program will be 24 to 50 hours, depending on the modules chosen by participants. The program will run from October 21 to December 20, 2024, and will provide an opportunity to enhance both professional and pedagogical skills. The training will include independent work and seminar sessions organized by RBS on teaching courses in specialized thematic areas – “FinTech Business Models,” “FinTech Regulation,” and “Capstone: Development of FinTech Business Idea.” Those who successfully complete the program will receive an RBS certificate qualifying them to teach the new courses.
Both elected and visiting faculty members from Latvian universities who are interested in teaching BFC-developed FinTech business education courses are invited to participate. We especially encourage new faculty members and doctoral students to apply. Applications can be submitted until September 30, 2024, by sending the application form to [email protected]. The application must include a CV and proof of English language proficiency (at least B2 level).
Participant selection will be done considering selected criteria, such as experience in FinTech, academic experience, and motivation. Preference will be given to instructors with a letter of support from their university committing to integrate BFC-offered courses into their programs. Selection results will be announced by October 7, 2024.
This program is implemented as part of the project “Knowledge and Research Capacity Strengthening of Anti-Money Laundering, and Financial Sector Technology & Analysis ” (Project No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/1/23/I/CFLA/001).
