Riga Business School, in partnership with the Riga City Council’s Department of Education, Culture and Sports, recently completed a successful pilot project aimed at bringing artificial intelligence (AI) education to high schoolers in Riga.
Over the course of the academic year (November to May), we welcomed 155 pupils from seven classes – grades 10 to 12 – for interactive two-hour workshops held at RBS. The goal was to help them understand how AI works, how it can support their learning, and how it is already being applied in Latvian companies.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive – many described the workshops as useful, understandable, and inspiring, with the average rating of 4.3 out of 5. A number of pupils expressed interest in diving deeper into AI development, algorithms, and the technology’s social and environmental impact.
This initiative is a great example of how RBS continues to contribute to the future of education in Latvia by promoting digital skills and critical thinking from an early age.
Many thanks go to Linda Sinka, Kaspars Mezeriņš, and Edgars Voļskis for delivering the sessions with energy and insight. We also thank our project partners: AI Studio, Latvian IT Cluster, and the Digital Innovation Hub for their support. And of course, sincere thanks to the Riga City Council for making this collaboration possible!
