Director of Master’s Programs vacancy at Riga Business School at Riga Technical University

The Riga Business School (RBS) at Riga Technical University (RTU) invites applications for the position of Director of Master`s Programs. In this role, you will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of all Master’s programmes at RBS.

As the Program Director at RBS, you will play a pivotal role in leading a collaborative effort at RBS and European Project partners to innovate and build an industry-relevant program. This includes the establishment of a new Master’s program in Digital Transformation and the strengthening and development of the Professional Master’s program (PMBA) and Executive Master’s program (EMBA).

Your responsibilities will encompass not only the strategic development of the programs but also ensuring their seamless integration into the academic landscape. This dual role presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of education, fostering collaboration between academic units and industry partners, ultimately ensuring the success and growth of all Master’s programs at RBS.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day activities and strategy of the graduate programs, including any pedagogical, operational, and administrative processes (licensing and accreditation).
  2. Conduct regular monitoring of global and regional curricular developments in Business Management, Computer Science, Management of Technology, Technology Adoption, Information Systems, etc.
  3. Propose improvements to existing and new programs offered at Riga Business School (RBS) at Riga Technical University (RTU).
  4. To undertake the leadership of developing a new Master’s level program in Digital Transformation (MERIT), in cooperation with other academic units at RTU and European Project partners.
  5. Monitor and implement program design and practice, including modifying degree requirements and adding or deleting graduate courses.
  6. Oversee the preparation of the information presented to external parties – regulatory bodies, students, employers, parents, about the program.
  7. Consolidate,  interpret, and communicate the procedures and rules of graduate studies to students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
  8. Provide academic guidance and monitoring of student progress throughout the program/-s.
  9. Create a recruitment strategy for Master’s Programs and engage with prospective students by addressing inquiries and showcasing program benefits.
  10. Collaborate with the marketing team in developing and implementing effective promotional initiatives.
  11. Build relationships with industry professionals and stakeholders to enhance program visibility.
  12. Ensure that the academic staff (especially new hires) are aware of RBS/ RTU and program regulations and procedures. Provide assistance to program’s faculty in improving their instructional performance.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Business Management or Computer Science or related field.
  • Program management skills, preferably in an academic environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the Education sector, including program development, accreditation, and management of University-level programs.
  • Teaching experience at the Master’s level at least 2 years.
  • Fluency in Latvian (C1 level) and English (B2 level) is required.

  • Understanding of RTU’s and RBS mission, goals, and global context, with knowledge of its place in Latvia and the broader international landscape.
  • Experience in management.
  • Familiarity with the directions of RBS activities as a modern Business School.
  • Expertise in effective management of human resources, change management, creation of international strategic partnerships, and participation in international networks.
  • Ability to present and articulate the vision, supported by current regulatory frameworks and available resources of RBS/RTU.
  • Motivation to work at RBS/RTU and a clear understanding of the role of Master Programs in implementing the development strategy of RBS/RTU.
  • Possess strong skills in promoting Master’s programs to potential students.
  • Understand and meet student requirements to enhance enrollment and program success.

Experience in managing projects in the education field financed by the public sector and/or international organizations might be considered as an advantage.

Salary range:

  • From 3,200- to 4,800 EUR, the full-time offer includes academic and administrative duties.

  • A personally signed and dated Curriculum Vitae, including information on his/her professional and academic career, achievements in research  and/or achievements and experience in the required fields, self-assessment of language skills and other skills, which in the opinion of the applicant may be useful in the work of a Master’s Program Director;
  • Education document copies, as well as other documents comprehensively characterizing qualification. If the doctoral degree has been awarded abroad, a certificate should also be submitted stating that this degree has been recognised in Latvia, indicating to which degree it corresponds in Latvia;
  • A vision of the strategic development of Master Programs at Riga Business school at Riga Technical University in the next five years (in the form of theses, no more than 2 pages).

Documents with the note “Director of Master’s Programs” should be submitted in Latvian (the national language) by sending an e-mail vakance@rbs.lv  till February 25, 2024. Documents submitted in a foreign language should be accompanied by a translation to Latvian (may also be non-notarised).
