The selection for the position of Director of Riga Business School as a structural unit of Riga Technical University has been concluded, as a result of which the Rector of Riga Technical University Tālis Juhna approved Inese Muzikante for the position as of 4 February 2025.
Inese Muzikante has been Interim Director of Riga Business School since August last year. Previously, Inese Muzikante was responsible for the management and development of the faculty of all academic programs and was a lecturer in the Executive MBA Leadership Development Practicum course.
In October 2024, the nomination process for the position of Director of Riga Business School was launched, with 17 candidates. The committee selected 7 candidates in the second round, from which 3 candidates were selected in the third round. The candidates presented their vision for the future of RBS and answered questions from the Committee. The candidate with the highest score was selected.

The RBS Advisory Board has defined the main tasks for the new Director. Building a stable and cohesive team, student satisfaction, and highly qualified academic staff will be the basis for RBS’s continued development and strengthening of its position as a leading business education institution in the region. The Advisory Board underlines that by achieving these objectives, the School will be able to maximize its growth performance and contribute to sustainable development. Academic development of programs and innovative solutions are also expected to strengthen the competitiveness of RBS and promote a modern educational approach.
The Committee consisted of Daiga Auziņa Melalksne, Chair of the Nominations Committee, Viesturs Kuļikovskis, Arnis Ozols, RBS Advisory Board representatives, Daina Mazutis, University of Ottawa representative, Andrejs Dzedons, Chairman of the RBS Council, Ilze Kauce, RBS Alumni Association representative, Elīna Gaile-Sarkane, Riga Technical University Vice-Rector of Studies, and Liene Briede, Vice-Rector of Innovations.
On 15 August 2024, the RBS Advisory Board nominated Inese Muzikanti as Interim Director until the successful completion of the selection process for the new Director, which concluded on 3 February 2025.
