Riga Business School has signed a cooperation agreement with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE), establishing a partnership in FinTech business education. Under this collaboration, SSE undergraduate students will join RBS students to study the course “Introduction to FinTech Business Models”. This specialised course is part of a six-course set on FinTech business education developed by the RBS Baltic Finance Center within the framework of a European Commission-funded Recovery and Resilience Facility project.

The creation of these modern study courses has been driven by industry needs and developed in close cooperation with representatives from the sector and regulators. Through these courses, students gain knowledge about various FinTech business models, familiarize themselves with regulatory aspects of the industry, and develop their own FinTech product ideas. A key element of the courses is the use of case studies, providing students with deep insights into real-world business situations and preparing them for careers in the industry.

Thanks to EU funding, this valuable set of courses is available free of charge to universities in Latvia for integration into their study programs. Currently, negotiations are ongoing with a number of universities regarding course implementation. The Baltic Finance Center aims to foster collaboration between Latvia’s higher education institutions and industry representatives, building a FinTech education community that supports the growth and development of Latvia’s FinTech ecosystem.
