We are pleased to invite you to a meeting with Dr. Mélanie Raymond, Director of Investment Analysis and Strategy at the Office of the Chief Economist, Global Affairs Canada. During her visit to Riga, she will present and discuss the current global, North American, and Canadian economy and its outlook in the current geopolitical situation.

Who is the speaker?

 

Mélanie Raymond is

  • The Director of Investment Analysis and Strategy within GAC’s Office of the Chief Economist since 2018.
  • She leads a team of analysts looking at trends and emerging issues related to inward and outward foreign direct investment as well as international development.
  • Before joining Global Affairs, she worked at four other federal departments, including the Privy Council Office, on a variety of issues ranging from social ones such as access to post-secondary education to economic ones such attracting foreign direct investment in the Canadian automotive industry.
  • She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Natural Resources Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
