The Education Innovation Laboratory at RTU Riga Business School recently organized a significant meeting at the State Chancellery, with a primary focus on fostering collaborations between higher education institutions in Latvia and the United States.
The gathering included representatives from Riga Technical University, Riga Stradiņš University, University of Latvia, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, the US Embassy in Riga, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health.
Key stakeholders, including representatives from University at Buffalo, Harvard University, and MIT, joined the discussions to explore avenues for strategic partnerships. The meeting emphasized the importance of international collaboration in shaping the future of education and healthcare in Latvia.
“The focus on collaborations between Latvia and America underscores our commitment to fostering global partnerships. This meeting was a crucial step towards aligning objectives and advancing shared goals between leadership in Latvia as well as discussing potential next steps,” commented Paula Elksne, Director of Education Innovation Laboratory.
The collaboration efforts considered during this meeting are intended to support education initiatives in Latvia, specifically to strengthen ties with well-known American institutions. The meetings ended with the interest of all involved parties to see these programs continue in order to support the development of the capacity of Latvian leaders in the field of digitization, collaboration, and innovation.
