Corporate Governance

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of Corporate Governance from both international and Latvian perspectives, equipping students for roles as corporate directors in public, private, and state-owned enterprises. By exploring case studies, engaging in research, and participating in discussions, students will achieve the following objectives:

  • Apply principles of corporate governance, oversight, and control.
  • Differentiate between governance, management, internal control, and stakeholder interests.
  • Implement governance structures in various types of enterprises.
  • Assess corporate governance levels using corporate reports and other public information.
  • Understand and apply key concepts of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and ethics in decision-making.

The course examines best practices in Europe and North America, adapting them to the Latvian business environment.
