From the 2025/2026 academic year, Riga Business School (RBS) will change its location, moving from Skolas Street 11 to Ķīpsala, a metropolis of education and knowledge in recent years. The decision to change the premises was made by the RBS Advisory Board together with the Rector of RTU to promote the long-term growth of RBS, attract students, and ensure the study process is conducted on modern premises.

In September of this year, the RBS Advisory Board approved the idea of changing the premises of RBS as a structural unit of Riga Technical University to provide a modern environment, access to the broader innovation ecosystem of the university, and collaboration.
By the end of this year, RBS will have identified all the necessary requirements for the redevelopment of the premises for RBS studies, considering objective recommendations from students and lecturers and the RBS administration.

Inese Muzikante, Acting Director of RBS: “The decision to move to new premises has been on the agenda of RBS on several occasions, and work has been carried out with the Advisory Board at various times to find suitable premises. This year, after a constructive dialogue with the RTU management and a search for suitable premises in Riga, the parties involved came to the decision to use part of the building located on the RTU premises. Currently, the modern premises that will house RBS are occupied by the Institute of Architecture and Design. Still, it is planned that the building will be occupied by students of the Institute of Architecture and Design and RBS students from the next academic year. RBS will be provided with autonomous spaces as much as possible, while in the future, we see business and IT students working more closely and collaboratively with other STEM fields.”

Voldemārs Innus, Chairman of the RBS Advisory Board: “On behalf of the RBS Advisory Board, I would like to express the support of the Board for the change of RBS premises from Skolas Street 11 to Ķīpsala, the campus of Riga Technical University. The existing premises at 11 Skolas Street have been a wonderful home for the establishment and successful growth of RBS. RBS has become an internationally recognized university-level institution for management education. At the same time, both the development of programs and the further improvement of facilities at the current location have long been on the radar of the RBS Advisory Board. During the past year, I had the opportunity to both visit and evaluate RBS’s move to Ķīpsala, where the Institute of Architecture and Design is currently located. I met with the Director of the Institute, Mara Liepa-Zemeša. Based on the discussions and the comprehensive review, the move to Ķīpsala will provide RBS with a new and dynamic home that will allow RBS to continue its development to better serve students across all RBS programs.”

Tālis Juhna, Rector of RTU: “Although more in-depth and technical work is still ahead, I am grateful to the RBS team for their willingness to use the available space in Ķīpsala to find a home. The strong brand of RBS deserves a modern space. I sincerely hope that the business school’s proximity to science and research will allow us to develop the next unicorns jointly. In the world’s best universities, it is precisely such synergies that help ensure the development of new products and services.”

RBS was founded in 1991 in collaboration with the University at Buffalo (USA) and the University of Ottawa (Canada) within Riga Technical University (RTU). RBS was the first higher education institution in the Baltic States to provide programs in English, awarding graduates with the widely recognized Master of Business Administration (Professional & Executive MBA). Today, RBS also provides bachelor’s degrees in Business administration, Computer science, & Organizational Technology, and for more than a year now, has also been providing Executive Education programs in the Continuing Education segment and PreUniversity programs in the Secondary School segment.
