Riga Business School (RBS), a division of Riga Technical University, invites high school students from across Latvia to participate in the RBS Greenhouse program, offering a unique chance to experience a modern, international academic environment in English. This free, three-week program, now in its fourth year, provides an opportunity for active and ambitious students to develop knowledge and skills in business management and IT in a cutting-edge educational setting.
The program runs from January 18 to February 8, 2025, and welcomes students from grades 10 to 12. Applications are open until January 13, 2025, and can be submitted via the website greenhouse.rbs.lv.
RBS Greenhouse participants will attend lectures led by experienced RBS faculty and workshops facilitated by experts from Latvia’s leading companies, including KPMG, Luminor, Tet, and Tietoevry, where they will also solve real-world challenges designed by Tietoevry professionals.
Interest in the program has grown significantly, with over 50 graduates in 2023 and 77 in 2024. This year, RBS aims to admit 100 participants. To apply, students need to submit their most recent academic transcript and a motivation letter explaining why they should be selected for the program.
The program offers two focus areas. Business administration, covering topics such as innovation, leadership, and the role of technology in modern business. Computer science and organizational technologies, focusing on programming, data analysis, IT solutions, and technology strategy, while enhancing leadership skills.
Participants can choose one focus area or engage in both. During the first two weeks, the program includes lectures, workshops, and company visits, such as to KPMG and Luminor. This year, in collaboration with RBS AI Studio, students in both tracks will also explore artificial intelligence and its practical applications, particularly in computer science and organizational technology.
Throughout the three weeks, students will work in teams to solve practical business and technology challenges, culminating in competitions for valuable prizes, including scholarships to study at RBS. This year’s program sponsors and supporters include KPMG, Luminor, Tietoevry, Tet, AI Studio, and Dārza limonāde, with IR serving as the media partner.
Claudio Rivera, RBS Director of Bachelor Programs, emphasizes the program’s value:
“RBS Greenhouse is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore our bachelor’s programs and their benefits. The program not only introduces participants to the academic process and practical knowledge but also builds valuable connections with peers and industry experts. We believe this experience will help students discover their potential and develop skills essential for future careers. RBS Greenhouse is a step toward leadership and success.”
