With the start of the 2024/2025 academic year, the Riga Business School (RBS) Alumni Association, in partnership with Riga Business School, has developed and agreed on a Memorandum of Cooperation outlining common goals to strengthen the alumni community. This marks the first time such a memorandum has been established, prepared in collaboration with RBS as a structural unit of Riga Technical University (RTU), and signed by the Rector of RTU, Tālis Juhna.

The Memorandum reflects the commitment of the RBS Alumni Association and Riga Business School to support initiatives that promote scholarships for undergraduate students and together with RBS, to create an attractive Alumni Association membership for graduates by 2027.

Ilze Kauce, President of the RBS Alumni Association Board: “For us, the RBS Alumni Association, the creation of the Memorandum alongside the RBS team is a significant milestone—the first of its kind in our history. We aim to support RBS by broadening the alumni network, attracting scholarships for talented students, and establishing a flexible format for updating alumni data. Several initiatives are already underway. The new season of our Mentoring Programme begins this month, and following the success of our first Alumni Day—a conference on leadership in technology—we are planning the next event for March 2025. I encourage every alumnus to engage with the Alumni Association and be part of RBS’s continued growth.”

Tālis Juhna, Rector of RTU: “I would like to thank the RBS Alumni Association for their initiative to support RBS through this Memorandum. For my part, I encourage companies and organizations to be proactive and engage in university research and innovation initiatives, because globally it is the ecosystems that develop with universities that create sustainable and commercialisable solutions for a better society.”

Inese Muzikante, Interim Director of RBS: “I want to thank the RBS Alumni Association Board for their dedication to being part of the school’s growth. In surveys conducted with students at graduation, the community formed during and after their studies is cited as one of the school’s greatest values. We strive to provide an environment where graduates continue to feel part of RBS.”

Over 30 years, nearly 2,000 students have graduated from RBS.
