Riga Business School (RBS), as a structural unit of Riga Technical University, has started this academic year with significant support for several talented students of the Bachelor of Computer Science program. This year, four RBS student scholarship providers – SEB Bank, Uniso, Colibrix, and Ozoco – are supporting 6 talented students on their way to a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education in computer science and business management.

These companies are providing scholarships totaling €30 000 for this academic year, supporting two 4th year students, two 3rd year students, and two 1st year students. All young people are studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Organization Technology at RBS. This program is unique in that it is designed as an interdisciplinary program for young IT professionals who want to develop their leadership skills in order to gain a significant competitive advantage in the future – to manage IT and also to be familiar with business management principles.

“I am grateful to every company that recognizes the importance of a scholarship in the lives of young people. It helps them to focus on their studies at the beginning of their studies, regardless of the support their parents can provide. Together with the RBS Alumni Association, we will continue to work on providing even more active support, as support for high-level studies is a critical success factor.”

Claudio Rivera,
RBS Bachelor Program Director

“At SEB Bank, we believe that quality education is the cornerstone of a developed society. Moreover, in times of uncertainty and economic challenges, investing in education is more important than ever. By supporting the Riga Business School since 2019, we are helping to build a better future not only for individual young people but also for the well-being and resilience of society as a whole. We value the opportunity to help the next generation overcome challenges and become the leaders of tomorrow.”

Ieva Tetere,
Chair of the Board, CEO of SEB Bank

“We are delighted to be working with RBS for two years on the COLIBRIX scholarship program. This partnership has helped us to support young talent and encourage new thinking in our industry. It’s a great opportunity to foster innovation and promote positive change.”

Alexander Bobrov,
CEO of COLIBRIX

“I systematically support initiatives aimed at promoting Latvia’s international competitiveness. Educated, entrepreneurial and outward-looking young people are one of the steps towards the realization of this initiative. Riga Business School was an important stepping stone for me in both my career and business development, so supporting this initiative is also a way of giving back, this time from my company Ozoco.”

Arnis Ozols,
Member of the Riga Business School Council, Member of the Board of Ozoco

“UNISO SIA has been supporting RBS Computer Science Bachelor students for the third year. The company provides scholarships, internships, and work opportunities, working with modern technologies in a dynamic environment. We are pleased with the results of our cooperation and plan to support talented students in the future.”

Jānis Rumkovskis,
Member of the Board, Marketing and Sales Manager, UNISO SIA

Any company can get involved in supporting talented students. RBS only provides corporate scholarships to students who have high entrance exam results, and they also maintain high results in the following years of their studies. In total, RBS students have received scholarships from 14 companies over the last 5 years, amounting to €333,560.
